Safety Notice on Prevention of Typhoon "Bavi"

To all international students,

According to the latest forecast from the China Central Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon Bavi (the 9th super typhoon this year) is expected to make landfall in China on the evening of July 11, and will affect Hubei Province from July 12 to 13, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall. To ensure the safety of everyone's life and property, this safety notice is hereby issued. Please pay high attention and take preventive measures.

I. Precautions for All International Students

  1. Before the typhoon arrives: Close doors and windows tightly, remove clutter from balconies, and stock up on at least 3 days' worth of drinking water and food.

  2. During the typhoon: Do not go out unless necessary. Stay away from windows and glass curtain walls. If water leakage or short circuits occur, cut off power and gas supply immediately.

  3. After the typhoon: Stay away from fallen trees and damaged billboards. Do not walk through flooded areas. Do not eat food soaked by rainwater, and check whether water, electricity, and gas supplies are safe.

  4. Keep following official early warning information and implement all protective measures.

II. Special Reminders for Students on Off-campus Internships

  1. Contact your internship unit in advance: Ask about the typhoon impact and emergency plans at your internship site. If necessary, apply to suspend or adjust your internship arrangement.

  2. Ensure accommodation safety: Make sure your lodging during the internship is a solid reinforced concrete building, away from hillsides, riverbanks, and low-lying areas.

  3. Prepare emergency supplies: Carry a flashlight, power bank, small amount of cash, commonly used medicine, and personal ID with you.

  4. Keep communication open: Ensure your phone is fully charged. Save in advance the contact numbers of the School's International Student Office, your counselor, the local police station, and emergency services.

  5. Follow local arrangements: Strictly comply with disaster prevention instructions from your internship unit and the local government. Evacuate promptly if necessary.

  6. Report promptly: If you encounter difficulties or danger, contact your school teacher and local emergency departments immediately.

III. Other Important Reminders

  1. Avoid outdoor activities: During the typhoon, do not go to mountains, riverbanks, beaches, or other dangerous areas for sightseeing or outdoor sports.

  2. Electrical safety: During thunderstorms, unplug unnecessary electrical appliances and avoid using landline phones.

  3. Look out for each other: Students living together should remind and help one another, and keep track of each other's safety status in time.

关于防范台风“巴威”的安全通知

全体留学生:

根据中国中央气象台最新预报,今年第9号超强台风“巴威”预计于7月11日晚间登陆我国,7月12日至13日将影响湖北地区,带来强风暴雨。为确保大家的人身和财产安全,特此发布安全提醒,请同学们务必高度重视,做好防范准备。

一、全体留学生防范须知

1.台风来临前,请关紧门窗、收回阳台杂物、备足至少3天的饮用水和食物;

2.台风过境时,非必要不外出,远离窗户和玻璃幕墙,如遇进水或线路短路应立即断电断气;

3.台风过后,远离倒伏树木和破损广告牌,切勿涉水行走,不食用被雨水浸泡的食物,并检查水电燃气是否安全。

4.请持续关注官方预警信息,做好各项防护措施。

二、校外实习学生特别提醒

1.提前联系实习单位:了解实习地点的台风影响情况和应急预案,必要时可申请暂停或调整实习安排。

2.确认住宿安全:确保实习期间的住所为坚固的钢筋混凝土建筑,远离山坡、河道、低洼地带。

3.准备应急物资:随身携带手电筒、充电宝、少量现金、常用药品和个人证件。

4.保持通讯畅通:确保手机电量充足,提前保存学校国际学生办公室、辅导员、当地派出所及急救电话。

5.服从当地安排:严格遵守实习单位和当地政府的防灾指令,必要时果断转移避险。

6.及时报告情况:如遇到困难或危险,第一时间联系学校老师和当地应急部门。

三、其他重要提醒

1.避免户外活动:台风影响期间,严禁前往山区、河道、海滩等危险区域游玩或进行户外运动。

2.注意用电安全:雷雨天气时拔掉不必要的电器插头,避免使用固定电话。

3.互相照应:同住的同学请互相提醒、互相帮助,及时了解彼此安全状况。
