01 WTU at a Glance

Wuhan Textile University (WTU) has a history of nearly 70 years. It is a multi-disciplinary comprehensive university covering seven disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, and art. At present, it has more than 23000 students on campus, more than 1500 full-time teachers, including more than 700 teachers with senior titles, more than 900 doctors, one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and eight members of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

With strong academic strength, it has taken the lead in the research of textile technology, fiber materials, creative design, intelligent manufacturing and other related fields, and many scientific research achievements are leading in the world.

The team led by Professor Xu Weilin, President of Wuhan Textile University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has long been committed to teaching and research in textile, materials and other fields. The fabric version of the national flag developed by our scientific research team was displayed on the lunar surface for the first time with the Chang'e 5 probe, and the "Mars lander" participated in the research and development helped the "Tianwen 1" probe successfully landed on Mars.

Wuhan Textile University has national key research bases such as the State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technology, the national and local joint engineering laboratory, the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, the engineering research center of the Ministry of Education, key research bases such as the inheritance base of Chinese excellent traditional culture and a number of new university-run local units, university-run enterprise research and development institutions.

It has 4 undergraduate disciplines with national characteristics, 17 national-level first-class discipline construction sites, 3 engineering education certification disciplines of the Ministry of Education, 8 "excellent engineer education training program" disciplines, 7 brand disciplines of Hubei Province, and 16 provincial-level first-class discipline construction sites.

We have made great efforts to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and have established cooperation with 100 universities and institutions in more than 30 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Australia, Russia, Japan, etc. We are the first member of AUTEX in China mainland, the member of the board of the U.K. Textile Institute and the U.S. Fiber Society, the initiative unit of ‘The Belt and Road' Association of Textile Higher Education, the alliance member of ‘The Belt and Road' World Textile University. We undertook the 89th Textile Institute World Conference, International Forum of Chinese Scientists in Textile Materials, First Sino-Russian University Forum in Hubei Province, "Understanding China and Connecting the World" International Youth Forum of the Institute of People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education.

02 Programs

Application Eligibility

1.Non-Chinese citizen in good health with valid passport.

2.Bachelor degree with good academic grades (obtained prior to the admission date).

3.Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors

4.Applicants from non-native English countries need to provide English language certificates

05 Admission Procedures

1.The submitted application will be reviewed by Wuhan Textile University to verify information including identity, educational background, etc.

2. Applications having passed the preliminary review will be further evaluated for academic performance, language proficiency and other supporting documents.

3. The applicant will be informed of the admission results and issued formal Admission Notice and JW 202 form if being successfully admitted.
